Recovery Act Updates from NCI Print E-mail

New Features on NCI Recovery Act Web Site

The National Cancer Institute invites you to learn about the exciting services and research that are being funded through the Recovery Act. NCIs Recovery Act Web site has expanded to include new features on the people behind the science and videos from the field on navigators helping cancer patients. Recently added highlights include:

NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) Video & Article

Better Cancer Care, Close to Home, a 5-minute video, features the bond between a cancer patient and his healthcare team at St. Joseph Cancer Institute in Towson, Md., one of the 16 community cancer centers in the NCCCP pilot. Recovery Act funds are being used to fund jobs, including additional patient navigators, at the existing NCCCP hospitals and to expand the entire program to more communities in 2010. An accompanying article looks at community cancer care at three NCCCP centers and how navigators are helping patients in their fight against cancer.
