Friends of Cancer Research (Friends) is committed to safeguarding
your privacy. Friends believes the best way to protect people's
privacy is to tell you what information we gather and ensure that
you understand and consent to our uses of such information. We may
occasionally modify the Privacy Policy and will post those changes
on this page so that you are always aware of what information we
collect and how we use it.
Demographic
Information
While using the Internet, your web browser transmits some information
to any website you are visiting, including the time and date, you
IP address, geographic location, type of Web browser and referrer.
Our servers are not set up to track, collect or distribute personal
information (e.g. names and addresses) about our visitors. Unless
specifically stated, no additional information will be collected
about you. We compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors
to our site, the daily requests for particular files on the site,
the countries that requests are coming from, and browser and operating
systems used. This information is used internally to help us improve
the content and scope of the site. The statistics contain no personal
information and cannot be used to gather such information.
Newsletter and Information Registration
In order to receive additional information or receive our electronic
newsletter, a user must first complete a registration form. During
registration a user is required to give contact information (such
as name and email address). We use this information to communicate
directly with the individual in the capacity requested and add the
contact information to our database.
Inquires and Comments
When inquires are emailed to us, we store the question and the email
address so we can respond electronically. We do not identify publicly
individuals who send questions or comments to our website. Information
or opinions, whether the information is learned directly or incidentally,
are kept confidential. Access to inquiries and comments are limited
to Friends' staff.
Database and Mailing List
Friends maintains control of any names, mailing addresses, telephone
numbers, or email addresses submitted by users of its website. This
information is stored in our database and is accessible only by
Friends' staff members. Any data containing personal identifiers
(names, etc.) shall be kept in a secure area when not being used.
Reasonable caution shall be exercised in limiting access to information
to only those persons who are working with Friends, on a project
or as a part of other organizational activities, and who have been
instructed in the applicable confidentiality requirements for the
organization.
Friends does not rent, sell, or otherwise share its mailing list
or database. Users who no longer wish to receive our electronic
newsletter or other communications may opt-out of receiving these
communications by sending an email to info@focr.org.

We have no third party advertisers on our website, and we DO
