Samantha Roberts

Science Policy Analyst

Samantha Roberts, PhD, serves as a Science Policy Analyst at Friends of Cancer Research (Friends), a cancer research think tank and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. Working with the entire cancer research and advocacy community, Friends pioneers innovative public‐private partnerships, organizes critical policy forums, educates the public, and brings together key stakeholders to overcome the barriers standing between patients and the most promising cancer treatments.

Prior to joining Friends, Dr. Roberts was a post-doctoral fellow with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (FDA-CBER) where she studied the immune response to Francisella tularensis.  Dr. Roberts obtained her PhD at Emory University by studying the modulation of virulence in Streptococcus pyogenes and earned a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wittenberg University.  Her background spans genetics, microbiology, and immunology and is published in several research journals.
