
Heather S. Chaney serves as Director of Programs at Friends of Cancer Research (Friends), a cancer research think tank and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. Working with the entire cancer research and advocacy community, Friends pioneers innovative public‐private partnerships, organizes critical policy forums, educates the public, and brings together key stakeholders to overcome the barriers standing between patients and the most promising cancer treatments.
Ms. Chaney has over ten years of experience working in health care and government relations. Prior to joining Friends, she served as manager of government relations at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) dealing with Medicare and uninsured issues. Before joining BIO, she was with the Health Insurance Association of America in the federal affairs department.
Ms. Chaney graduated with distinction and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia.
